When you're approaching women with the direct approach, only a certain percentage are going to be into it. Some will give you the neutral response and some will just keep walking. When you first start out with the direct approach, I'd say you're going to average a 10% success rate or so. When you get that first woman who stops and is into you, you're going to be the one freaking out and going, 'What do I do next?' So, here's what you do with a positive reaction.
It's On!
The usual positive reaction to a direct approach goes something like this: She's smiling and saying, 'Oh my god, I'm so happy! Guys never approach me like that! That's the coolest thing that's ever happened to me!' She's happy and she's gushing.
You're going to move right in and say, 'Oh my god, what's your name? I want to get to know you too. I've been wanting to meet somebody interesting.' Your response is positive and you're just as surprised as she is to meet somebody cool.
Next Step - Qualification
You'll want to move straight into qualification. Right now when she's excited is a great time to get her talking about herself. Use medium hoops and get her to talk about herself; what she likes, what she's passionate about, what's her thing, etc.
The emotional momentum is at its highest in those first 30 seconds after the approach. Use this chance to strike while the iron is hot and get lots of qualification going. You don't need to jump into building attraction just yet, but play it by ear. Usually, I work on qualification and rapport at this stage.
The Number Close
Direct approaches work best for daytime pick-ups. When you pick up women during the daytime, you're not going to be taking her home or anything like that. Instead, you should be working toward the number close. Leave her in that excited state and get her number. She's going to be talking to all of her friends about this crazy thing that happened today. You want to leave her in that state.
Approaching women directly takes a bit of practice, the more practice you do the greater the chances you can get. You get shot down a lot and it has a pretty low success rate. But when you hit, make sure you know exactly what to do in order to close with her number.
