When you're learning how to approach a woman directly, rather than doing indirect techniques, you're going to get blown off quite a bit. No Slap In The Face
First of all, you won't get slapped. She also probably won't be rude to you. The reason is that you're coming up to her and laying down a nice compliment. If she's not interested, she'll laugh awkwardly and say 'thanks but no thanks.' Even if she moves on, it's probably going to make her day.
Ironically, lots of guys expect the worst. Especially guys who aren't that good looking, are fat or have a funny accent. They think she's going to scream and go, 'Get away from me, you creep!' But that's actually the opposite of what happens.
Straight Ignorance
One bad reaction is the straight ignorance reaction. She just acts like you're not talking to them. They just keep walking or act like they didn't hear you. This is about as close to a slap in the face as you're going to get.
The 'Thank You'
The other common bad reaction is that she'll say a quick 'thank you' and then go back to exactly what she was doing. That's pretty courteous actually when you consider how she could've reacted.
The Boyfriend Objection
This is actually the worst. After you make your approach, she says, 'I've got a boyfriend.' It's like she's saying, 'Nice try, buddy.' This reaction is really rare; but, it's usually a good warning that this is the wrong girl anyway. She's second guessing you and her defenses are up.
What do you do when you get one of these reactions? You say 'Next!' and move on. Tell her it was nice to meet her, have a good day, and you're on your merry way. There's no point wasting time with her, especially when the mall's full of other hotties.
Remember that your biggest challenge in how to approach a woman directly is just getting the guts together to do it. The worst that'll happen is one of the three reactions above. But if she's one of the 10% who'll be interested, you've got it made.
