It can be pretty funny how men and women perceive the dating game. Sometimes men think there aren't enough women to go around or that all the good women are already attached. At the same time, some women are just desperate to have one man notice them, but all they do is overlook her. Sounds like two different situations? It isn't. It all boils down to the type of woman men like.
This problem happens everywhere. Men have a type of woman they tend to prefer. These preferences can be physical, something about their personality, or just a vibe they can't explain. But as a result of having these preferences, they begin to ignore any woman who doesn't fit into their ideal picture. Women, on the other hand, tend to be too shy to go up to a man, and those that have the guts to do it are usually the ones that already fall into their type or are too intimidating for some guys.
To address this problem, women need to find confidence and to work on their self-esteem, but that is a completely different discussion. This discussion is about the side of men. You may not realize it (and really most men don't realize they have a type until it's pointed out to them) but sticking to the type of woman men like can be really detrimental to your dating life.
When you are after just one type of woman, you are hindering your overall success. You are blocking yourself from seeing all the other different beautiful women out there, and naturally this is detrimental to your dating. Say you walk into a party and the type of woman you like is either taken or not around, you begin to think that the party is a bust, you don't even want to try to get to know the other women in the room. Just like that, you have made yourself fail, and you have lessened your chances of meeting someone really great. Still wondering why it's so hard to find someone? Well, maybe it's cause you have your horse blinders on!
So, as a guy, what should you do? Simple. Next time you go out, go out with the goal of meeting and talking to someone who isn't your type. Say you're a fan of women who dress provocatively. Why not approach a woman who seems shy and conservative? You never know, she may just be the type of woman you've have always wanted to meet!
